I've been coming here occasionally throughout the years and I noticed the servings keeps getting smaller and prices keeps getting higherA lot of things have changed and thatIncludes the mini appetizers they give only good for one scoop Service wise there's not much to praise aboutFood is good but for its serving of meat portionOne would ask "where's the beef?"Price wise you're not going to get the best bang for your moneyAnd for my left over food, I noticed the sauce is spilled all over the plastic bag and this has happened a couple of times in my past visitsI'll probably try other Korean restaurant It doesn't pay to be a loyal customer

This place is amazing. I looks a little run down but that only serves to make the delicious food even more delicious. Fair prices and great, attentive service. Really great variety of authentic Korean food. Will be back and bringing friends

I went there last night with my girlfriends, never been there before, the food is very good and nutritious served in generous portions , the lady at the door was super welcoming and she also helped my friend with diet restrictions to arrange something she could eat , the waiter sweet ... very home like service . We got a good spot to seat were we could have a quiet conversation, the little salads they serve .... mmmm... delicious home made special Korean pickles Very recommended And yes , bring your children too ☺️

Very great quality food and amazing taste. The place has never been renovated since it was built in the 70s but don't let that scare you off food is amazing. A little on the expensive side but well worth it

Great service, great food - get the won ton soup - u can taste the love that goes into making each won ton. Fair price, fair portions and consistent.

I ordered pork stew from here all I got was bones. Pretty disappointed.

I am so disappointed! Bul Go Gi has been a family favorite of ours for over 30 years; we have celebrated many birthdays and anniversaries there, but those days are gone. The portions are noticeably smaller (although prices are up), the mountain vegetable dish was cold (again!) the chicken dish had very little sauce but more oil, and our order was wrong. I normally don't care about mix-ups (we ordered 2 different chicken dishes but received 2 of the same kind) because people are only human, but because the food was sub-par, it was one more thing to add to the disappointed list. This is not the first time with the new management, it happens every time. 😕I hate sounding negative because I have always LOVED this place, but I cannot in good conscience recommend it like I used to. The prices are too expensive for the quality of food being served, so I will no longer recommend Bul Go Gi.

We arrived at this spot for a meeting. This spot was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. The crew were extremely nice and we felt good. The meal was yummy. We enjoyed every moment and we shall absolutely come back again. Highly recommended.

Sure the food is very good, I have been going here for over 50 years and seen many changes but I question the sanitation of a Restaurant with this many decades of service. Interior can be called quaint, but that is just another word for shabby. This little gold mind is a favorite restaurant for many, but the menu is getting a little tighter.From the days long ago when hot plates where on every table, cooking your dinner, and bottomless bowls of steaming rice. Yes times change. Memories of restaurants far away bringing many families here for a touch of the land where these flavorful dishes originated.Still a very good place to try.

Had the bulgogi lunch special and black sesame ice cream. Both were really good.

Always friendly and great food

This is honestly the best Korean food in Edmonton. The waitress understood I was craving 'army soup'. She taught the kitchen how to prepare - it was perfect. Maybe if you ask really nice, and they aren't crazy busy, they will make it for you. This is a must go place.

Lunch time galbi special is the best! You get the bbq beef, bbq chicken, steamed rice, stir fried vegetables and two fried wontons for a very affordable price!!! Dont forget the soup for starters thats included in the meal! Make sure your hungry other wise you might not finish and get yourself so0oo full.... lol

I have been coming to this place for the last 20 years. The dated decor and unassuming location were never an issue due to the quality being so good. That is really no longer the case. The pitiful portion sizes are embarrassing considering their price. The food still tastes good, but the value is just no longer there. $20 for 3 tiny pieces of chicken breast. $27 for two strips of beef short ribs. A $75 meal for 3 and we walked out still hungry. Id really love to keep supporting this place as I have for years and years, but they're really making that tough.

Such delicious food...unfailing for...40+ years. You will not be disappointed.

Bul Go Gi House has been around since 1973, and their food is absolutely delicious!-LA Galbi Beef Short Ribs - hands down my favourite dish. The meat is SUPER tender and the marination is spot on. I order this everytime. 😍Ttukbaegi Bulgogi (it’s like stew) - our first time ordering this and it did not disappoint. If you like stew, you would fall in love with this dish 🤤Japchae - it’s a must if you’re getting Korean food! Best Japchae I’ve ever had! We had the HanJan one recently and that was absolutely a gone show. If you want Japchae, you better get it from Bul Go Gi House ❤️-The owner served us personally and has told us that Covid has really affected her restaurant (just like a lot of businesses) and that she’s very worried for her restaurant’s future! If you’re wanting Korean food, PLEASE give this place a try and give them a little love ❤️ Do not let this authentic gem go forgotten.

Extremely friendly staff, really great food most has some nice spice to it. There is a reason they've been around since 1973 even if they haven't renovated the restaurant since then. The food is worth the trip.

Have been going to this restaurant since I was a kid. Food is always good and the staff are friendly

I meet friends in this restaurant quite a bit! This is the best place to dine. I visit this place at least once a month. The food is very good, the staff members are friendly and the prices are reasonable. I like eating in this restaurant for a nice supper.

I decided to try out an online food delivery app and got Korean food with complimentary side dishes 😍 hot sogogi jigae (spicy beef with shrimp and vegetable soup) and tasty kkhanpunggi (sweet and spicy deep-fried chicken).

I started going to this restaurant in 1976 when it had only 3 tables! They introduced me to a large variety of delicious dishes which I still enjoy to this day!I remember begging for mulnengmyun even on days in winter when it wasn’t on the menu but An, the cook and wife of the owner always obliged!I haven’t been back in close to 40 years but the memories remain!I also remember “Shirley” who as a waitress knew everyone by their first name.Best of LuckDave Lloyd

HORRIBLE! Huge disappointment! The portions and the quality of the food is shameful. Korean sprouts were made from little bean sprouts as opposed to the proper large soy bean sprouts. They were brutally overcooked. I'm shocked that they were willing to serve such poorly made and presented food.The portions were ridiculously small. Korean ribs for over 20 dollars, you get three little pieces. Dried!Rice cakes... Hard.Pork kimchi... Where's the pork? I'm not just talking about the pieces of meat but the mix of flavours you would expect! If I wanted a plate full of kimchi, I would order that.

Majorly disappointing. Would give zero stars if I could. I hadn't been in years, went for my birthday with a bunch of people and waited 40 mins to be acknowledged, then were asked to write our own order down on a scrap of paper......food came out randomly and we had to flag staff down for cutlery, drinks etc....we weren't informed of the automatic 18% gratuity that was NOT deserved and then was told only TWO cards were accepted for a $400+ bill with 10 people. A total joke. Skip this place and spend money elsewhere ugh.

This restaurant has been around for a very long time and for good reasons. Food is very good. They have the best short ribs in the city. It is worth it to go there just to try this. Staff is very friendly and service is excellent.

I tried this place once with a friend and I am obsessed since then. I like the great atmosphere and flavorful dishes and drinks. I recommend this place.

My family and I have been eating here since I was born (~30 years). Forever my favourite restaurant for any occasion. Consistently delicious, you can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients and the love that goes into making each item. The ribs are pricey but worth every penny (best ever short ribs), and even though the wantons are deep fried they still taste fresh and are never oily. We miss the giant egg roll you used to offer but we love eating here all the same. Bring anyone you want to impress! You won’t be disappointed.

Good service. Excellent food. Very quaint and unassuming.I had the Seaweed Salad followed by Bibim Jjampong (spicy seafood noodles) and Kimchi. All three were delicious, reasonably priced and had decent portion sizes.Highly recommend.

I adore this place! They have good dishes, their menu is rich, The cook in that place is a real pro, I enjoy very much eating all their dishes. The dishes are always good, the attitude towards the clients is efficient. I frequently visit this place and I not even once was unsatisfied. I recommend this place.

Food was ok. Other korean restaurants in south side are better than here... service is slow... they don’t really have servers, just two older ladies running around doing everything... feel bad... they are very polite and friendly tho. Hopefully the owner will hire mor ppl to work busy weekends.

This place is great despite the exterior and interior decoration. Their dishes include side dishes which is good. You always get more than enough food with the order so it's worth the price. They don't have house tea like other restaurants though. The rose tea on the menu is just Red Rose brand orange pekoe tea so be warned. The chopsticks got bigger.
